MedCity Pivot Podcast: Brain Health at the Point of Care

MedCity News host Arundhati Parmar talks with Dr. Iftach Dolev about bringing brain function assessment into routine clinical care.

On the MedCity Pivot podcast, host Arundhati Parmar talks with Dr. Iftach Dolev, neuroscientist and CEO of QuantalX, about Delphi-MD™ and the FDA De Novo classification of the system.

Topics covered

  • Why routine clinical care has few tools to measure how the brain functions, compared with imaging that shows brain structure.
  • How Delphi-MD™ combines transcranial magnetic stimulation and EEG in one bedside system, controlled by software from acquisition to the report.
  • Who uses it: the indication is for brain specialists, with interpretation by a neurologist or psychiatrist and operation by a medical technician.
  • How results are compared with a normative database for ages 50 to 75 and how the assessment fits alongside cognitive tests and MRI or CT.
  • How centers are using the system, from rehabilitation and chronic pain studies to healthy aging programs, and the dedicated reimbursement code for the procedure.

*All clinical interpretations of Delphi-MD™ assessments must be made by qualified healthcare professionals within the context of a full patient evaluation. The Delphi-MD™ system is intended to elicit, record, and analyze TMS-evoked brain potentials (TEPs) and provide quantitative output parameters compared against a normative reference database limited to ages 50–75. Adverse events during or after evaluation may include headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety/agitation, back or neck pain, vomiting, tinnitus, migraine aura, and abnormal sensations. Delphi-MD™ is not intended to be relied upon solely to make or confirm a diagnosis. For more information, refer to the Delphi-MD™ user manual.
